150 m
Scales are used on things such as maps. If your scale was for a map, it is basically telling you that every 2cm on the map represents 25m in real life. Using this map example, I will help you with your question. I will do the 150m measurement for both the real life value and the map value, just so you can do either way:
a. 150m on the map
So for this problem we want to find the real life value of 150m on the map
Firstly you must convert this into cm, because the units must be the same.
So, 150m = 150 x 100 cm = 15000cm
If every 2cm=25m, then we must find out how many lots of 2cm are in 15000cm, and multiply it by 25. The resulting unit will be in meters
15000/2 = 7500cm (lots of 2cm)
7500 x 25 = 187500m = 187500/1000 km = 187.5km
b. 150m in real life
So for this problem we want to find the rmap measurement for 150m in real life
If every 25m represents 2cm on the map, then we must find out how many lots of 25m is in 150m, then multiply it by 2. The resulting unit will be in cm.
150/25 = 6 (lots of 25)
6 x 2 = 12cm on the map
